AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE 19 texts. 19 directors. Two years in the making. 35 years to write. 10 hours, 23 minutes and seven seconds of film. As part of its celebration of Beckett the Sydney Festival presents a rare opportunity to see all 19 plays by Samuel Beckett, beautifully and meticulously brought to film, courtesy of two Irish producers - Michael Colgan (Gate Theatre) and Alan Moloney - who realised the project over two intensively creative years. The films are presented as nine separate programmes with Waiting for Godot, Endgame, Happy Days and Krapp's Last Tape as stand-alone films and the remaining 15 short films screened in five triple bills. Some programs are screened twice. For more information, see the Sydney Festival website TICKETS - available online through Sydney Festival - www.sydneyfestival.org.auBehind the scenes of Beckett on FilmJanuary 12 at 5pmMeet the men behind the Beckett on Film project, as Michael Colgan and Alan Moloney take you behind the scenes of this landmark film series and the processes involved in transferring from stage to screen.
