UWS Campuses and Accommodation

UWS is one of Australia’s largest universities and is made up of six campuses located across Western Sydney. Each of these campuses runs contemporary, innovative degree programs, with courses ranging from popular favourites like law, teaching and business to ‘leading edge’ areas like digital media, nanotechnology and alternative medicine.

Bankstown Campus
Colourful and culturally diverse

Bankstown is only 30-40 minutes by car or train from the Sydney CBD.   At peak times, a train leaves from Bankstown station for Sydney city every 15 minutes. Bankstown city has a multicultural population of 165,000 people. People from almost every country in the world have made it their home and they’ve brought their cultures with them.

Diverse and multicultural
Blacktown is about one hour from the Sydney CBD and is the centre of a large industrial and retail shopping area. It  is well serviced by road and rail and enjoys a broad mix of cultures. The city has more than 100 parks and reserves and provides a variety of sporting venues including swimming pools, tennis courts, golf course, playing fields, an ice-skating rink and the Eastern Creek motor racing circuit.

Modern, state-of-the-art facilities
Campbelltown offers a unique balance between city and rural lifestyles. About one hour by road or train from the Sydney CBD it is a city set in a landscape of rolling hills and farms.   Set in 160 hectares of parkland the Campbelltown Campus is served by its own purpose built railway station. Recreational activities abound with venues for golf, swimming, tennis, horse riding and fascinating walks in the nearby Mt Annan Botanic Garden.

Hawkesbury Campus
A  friendly rural community
Hawkesbury is one of the fastest growing regions in the state of New South Wales and is only one hour and 20 minutes from the centre of Sydney. The population of 70,000 is spread through five rural townships and some smaller villages. Tourism and agriculture are the main sources of income. Although quiet and peaceful the area is well serviced by retail shops and recreation areas as well as direct road and rail links.

Parramatta Campus

Parramatta, just 20 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD, is a bustling metropolis with a rich historic background.   It was Australia’s first European style market town. The Parramatta commercial and retail centre boasts one of the largest shopping centres in the Southern Hemisphere called Westfields providing all the services a student may need.   Parramatta also has a popular restaurant strip providing tastes from all around the world.

Note. At this stage UWS Residential Colleges do not offer accommodation at the Parramatta campus. However, a level of assistance will be offered to students wishing to seek alternate accommodation.

Penrith Campus
Lively and modern with lots of character
Penrith is located at the foot of the Blue Mountains only 30 minutes from Parramatta or 60 minutes from the Sydney CBD. It has a population of 170,000 people. Penrith is located at the foot of the Blue Mountains on the spectacular Nepean River.   The Blue Mountains provides you with plenty of opportunities for bushwalking, picnics and mountain bike riding while the Penrith locals use the river for water-skiing or a day out picnicking.
