Western Sydney
If you venture outside the city of Sydney and head west, you'll find the suburbs of Greater Western Sydney and the home of UWS. Greater Western Sydney stretches from Parramatta (just 30-40 minutes from the city of Sydney) to the foot of the stunning Blue Mountains. While the city generally offers apartment style living, Greater Western Sydney provides the comfort of a suburban lifestyle.

One in 10 Australians choose to make Western Sydney their home. Almost half of the population in the region is under the age of 30. The region is rich in cultural diversity, embracing a large multicultural community - over 30% of the population can speak a second language.

Greater Western Sydney is home to popular tourist attractions including: the 2000 Sydney Olympic site International Regatta Centre and Whitewater Stadium Penrith Panthers World of Entertainment and mega cinema complexes to name a few. The region is surrounded by the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains, scenic national parks and rivers. Here you'll find native wildlife and breathtaking views of waterfalls as well as the opportunity to experience bushwalks and the adventures of rock climbing, horse riding and caving.

As a student of UWS, you will be able to live on or close to a UWS campus. There are many advantages to living on or close to a UWS campus including convenient access to campus facilities, much cheaper living compared to the city of Sydney, and more opportunities for part-time work in the region.

Our extensive public transport system allows easy travel to Sydney's attractions from all UWS campuses. If you decide to live in Sydney, getting to and from campuses is just as easy.
